Join our Legal team, where you will take on the role as a Senior Lawyer, focusing on the cleared derivatives business, regulatory matters for our trading business and project work. In this role, you will be given the opportunity to assist with growing our revenue generating businesses across EMEA. Your deep and specialized knowledge of derivatives and international derivatives regulations will be instrumental in driving new business opportunities forward and helping to chart the next steps for this critical and successful division. In this position, you will focus on three areas: assisting a mid-level lawyer by providing senior input into cleared derivative projects and matters, including the prudential regulation applicable to cleared derivatives; horizon scanning for new regulations applicable to our Irish bank or to the London branch of our Australian bank, with a focus on EMIR and MiFID and the UK equivalents. You will work in close co-operation with our Compliance department and another senior lawyer who focuses upon regulation; and project work, with an initial focus on the IBOR project for EMEA. You will have the experience and skillset to run projects. Additional day to day responsibilities will include: advising the business and liaising with various internal departments on derivatives regulation remaining up to date with existing and upcoming regulations which affects the business derivative transactions instructing, liaising with and managing external counsel in a variety of jurisdictions reviewing legal opinions, netting opinions and collateral opinions To be considered for this position, you will have 7+ years of experience at a top tier law firm or financial services firm, with a focus on supporting a front office derivatives business as their legal counsel.
