The Role This exciting and varied role will involve the architecture, design, development and delivery of CME Post Trade Solutions. This is an excellent time to join a growing team tasked with re-architecting the CME Post TradeSolution set for scalability and real time processing. Whilst being well a high profile well integrated team in CME Technology, the team also enjoys autonomy in architecture and design for solutions. Responsibilities The Senior Java engineer is expected toprovide leadership in application design, driving innovative and leading-edge technical solutions. We want developers who are smart, pragmatic, motivated and collaborate well. As a team member you have responsibility to develop your teammates through PR reviews,pair programming and mentoring relationships. You are expected to deliver highly performant low latency solutions, with continually evolving Dev-Ops principles. Expected to deliver great and secure solutions, with an emphasis on quality at every stage of thedelivery lifecycle. Cool things about working in CME Post Trade Opportunity to work with Technical Experts in Enterprise processing A team with a focus on innovation and embracing early adoption of practices and technologies Opportunities to work with a varietyof enterprise technologies including spring cloud stream framework, Kafka, Redis, adopting Java 11, Kubernetes Multi-disciplinary and autonomous DevOps teams, including Testers, Developers, Analysts and local operations teams We provide bespoke training opportunitiesto develop new skills and expertise Pair programming We consider testing to be at the core of our development processes Every PR has a set of Unit Tests and integration tests Strong identity and accountability for the entire value stream Flexible home workingpolicy Where differing views and debate are respected and encouraged Where differing views and debate are respected and encouraged Essential Criteria Expertise in core java skills Experience working with multithreaded applications Ability to write clean, bug-freecode that is easy to understand, and easily maintainable Ability to write code which can satisfy low-latency & high-throughput requirements Experience in developing and automating solutions directly related to Continuous Integration/ Continuous Delivery andinfrastructure automation Experience with relational database (Oracle) & SQL Bachelors degree (with honours) or equivalent/better strongly preferred, but substantial relevant experience could substitute Desirable Criteria Knowledge of financial markets andworking with financial applications Knowledge of financial messaging protocols, and in particular FIX. Knowledge/prior experience of AWS, Chef, and Ansible Experience with low-latency applications for futures and options for FX/Fixed Income. Experience codingin a story-driven, agile environment. Prior experience working in financial services/exchange space. Prior experience working with BDD methodologies and automated acceptance criteria.
