This is an outstanding opportunity to work alongside our clients local NGO partners in the UK Overseas Territories to help safeguard their most valuable natural sites and protected areas, advance climate-smart planning regimes and ensure sustainable built developments. The Territories are home to stunning wildlife including 94% of unique British species.Senior International Site Safeguard Officer Reference number: A4510120 Location: Bedfordshire/Cambridge/London Salary starting at: £29,507 to £31,965 per annum Hours: Full time Contract: PermanentAs a key member of this charitys global policy operation you will work across internal teams and with local NGO partners employing the full spectrum of tools to safeguard these often spectacular sites. This includes identification, legal designation, development consultations, coalition campaigning, communications and mitigation, whilst also proactively supporting the strengthening of planning frameworks that build long-term climate resilience. This will involve review of Environmental Impact Assessments, and constructive engagement with developers and decision makers to secure positive legacies for biodiversity.You will be proactive, partnership-minded and able to forge positive relationships across the piece using the considerable resources at the organisations disposal.
