Job Title: Senior Full Stack DeveloperSalary: £75,000 to £100,000Location: LondonJob type: PermanentThe Company Cloudwise Solutions is currently working with a startup which has recently acquired a highly regarded, revenue earning software product which provides geolocation based insights to the Retail and Real Estate sectors. Already deployed and revenue earning in two European countries, with existing clients looking for further expansion into Europe, and a focus on releasing its potential across emerging markets, they aim to become a global player in location based analytics in our chosen sectors. They are looking to build a diverse, world class team of Developers, Data Scientists and Product Specialists to unleash the true potential of this product through the use of cutting edge technologies and techniques - to meet and exceed the demands of both developed and emerging markets globally.Currently with a small team of senior leaders based across offices in London and Johannesburg, South Africa, this is a fantastic opportunity to get in at the ground level and be part of shaping the success of this organisation.The Role You will be the foundation of our Software Development team, play a leading role in shaping and growing it and be an integral part in the hands on designing and adding of new features to the product as per business and market requirementsYou will play a lead role in the knowledge transfer from the existing team, ensuring full and deep understanding of the entire stack and its implementation end to end in readiness for both operating and scaling the product, training of new recruits and further development of the product to met market requirementsThe Software Development team will grow alongside the Data Science team, collaborating effectively to develop and deploy new functionalities in accordance with the Product Road Map which drive highly valuable insights to clients within the chosen sectors. You will be proficient in both front end and back end and also be competent in UI/UX design work, though a Front End Developer will be one of the first additions to the team in the near future. In addition, you will play a lead role in designing, developing and deploying a broad set of APIs to allow clients to access to the Data Platform outside of the current web based productYou will work in close cooperation with the COO to ensure development activities are in line with the business strategy and also in educating senior management of the capabilities of the tech stack for further developments. You will have worked on client/market facing product rather than soley internal or corporate systems, and exposure to KDB and Q would definitely be of benefit. The right candidate will play a key role in shaping and moulding the tech team as it expands.As well as being a hands on, experienced, competent and ambitious developer who knows how to execute and deliver features from back-end to front-end in a cloud based, client/market facing product environment, you will obviously have a desire to move toward team management in the near futureThe role will be likely be a fairly even split between mix of back-end (70%) and front-end (30%) work.Come and help us unlock our product’s true potential - and make a dent in the geo-analytics universe.TECH STACK: Google Cloud, Kubernetes, kdb+ and Postgres databases. Back end: Python (Flask, Django, SQLAlchemy, Graphene, Pandas, Numpy and Fast.a). Front end: Javascript (NodeJS) with TypeScript, React, Apollo, Mapbox-GL, Ant Design. Fully automated CICD using GitLab.Requirements • 3-5 years experience in working on client/market facing product, ideally in a SaaS type environment• Experience in building and deploying across the tech stack, front end and back end• Experience in working in a Data Science & Big Data environment with large datasets• Experience with cloud technologies, ideally Google Cloud, and orchestration/workflow via Kubenetes & Docker etc or equivalents• Experience in agile methodologies and leading sub teams (view to stepping up and leading software development)• Experience with Python (Flask, Django, SQLAlchemy, Pandas, Numpy, Graphene, Fast.ai), SQL, PostGres on backend, and React, NodeJS, TypeScript on frontend• Experience in API and / or SDK developmentDesirable • Working with geolocation/geospatial data and MapBoxGL, Open StreetMap or equivalent• Working with GraphQL• Experience in KDB+ and q would be a bonus but not essential - training would be given• Experience building or leading teams
