Job Description

Our client is a large retail bank who are looking for a Senior Financial Analyst in their FP&A team.This role will reporting to the Head of Financial Planning & Analysis and will support the transformation of the FP&A capability of the bank, helping to implement and drive value from modern cloud-based planning and performance management tools.This role will see you work with stakeholders across the bank and provide reporting up to Group and Board level, which will require full I&E and Balance Sheet understanding.Specifically, your key responsibilities of this role will include;Monthly Management Reporting

  • Take accountability for the month reporting cycle and work closely with the Finance Business Partners so actual performance is correctly understood, interpreted and communicated
  • Monitoring, developing and production of monthly reports
  • Developing and detailing financial processes for capturing management information as new products/initiatives are tested and launched
  • Maintain and develop processes and controls
    • Budgeting
  • Play a key role in developing the Anaplan forecasting solution
  • Assist the Forecasting manager in coordinating the FBPs and modelling
  • Review and challenge the inputs from the business and Finance Business Partners
  • Prepare presentation packs for the banks ExCo and data submissionincluding P&L and balance sheet
    • To be successful in this role, the desirable traits are below
  • Financial Modelling / FP&A experience gained ideally within Retail Financial Services
  • Qualified Finance Professional (CIMA/ACA or equivalent)
  • An understanding of how financial performance is generated in a Retail Bank. Knowledge of how a credit card business works (operationally and financially) would be of a very strong advantage.
  • Problem solving capability to be at a high level. There is no one standard problem that occurs, thus an adaptive, agile, and critical thinking mindset is required.
  • Advanced Excel skills. Whilst not required, previous experience with Anaplan is a strong advantage
