• Working with our prestigious and diverse range of clients.
• The opportunity to have a variety of complex fire safety problems to solve and troubleshooting issues to support clients for challenging assignments and to learn and grow.
• Opportunities to support customer facing teams with high profile client issues and strategies including negotiating with enforcement authorities and preparing clients with the new safety regime.
• Supporting the Head of Fire in setting direction on fire safety standards in consulting as well as, supporting the development of fire safety products and solutions.
• Undertaking retrospective fire strategies, and complex and high-rise fire risk assessments in Type 1,2,3,4 in residential and/or commercial buildings.
• Undertaking reviews of complex surveys of compartmentation and fire stopping, and making recommendations.
• Developing mentoring and training requirements to meet the competency framework.
• Designing fire safety management systems across client portfolios.
• Developing skills and competencies across consultants.
• Acting as an internal source of expertise for the consultants.
• Developing solutions to interim measures and gap closing in developments.
• Supporting our clients with their safety cases.
• Implementing fire safety advice and site management systems, audits and reviews.
• Designing fire management plans and fire safety strategies for existing buildings.
• Creating fire safety solutions across a range of sites (varying in complexity) within the built environment.
• Working with colleagues across Ark to contribute to new projects and developments - we have an open culture and are always looking to share and expand on our knowledge!

TO APPLY, WE NEED TO SEE THE FOLLOWING FROM YOU;

• Experience working as a Fire Safety Consultant/Engineer.
• Extensive experience in undertaking fire specialist work e.g. fire strategies, fire management plans, complex fire risk assessments and type 4
• Strong interpersonal skills and excellent report writing abilities to deliver client reports in accordance with a forensic and pragmatic approach.
• A qualification in fire safety or membership with a recognised fire safety body is essential e.g.MIFSM, MIFireE.
• Are you on one of the Fire Risk Assessments competencies registers TFRAR or equivalent
• Fire safety degree or equivalent in education.
• At least two years experience in residential property completing complex fire risk assessments and fire strategies.
• Working knowledge of relevant building regulations, BS9991, BS9999, BS9997, PASS 9980.
• Advise and implement the technical requirements of quality management systems including BAFE SP205.
• Dedicated to CPD

JOB SPECIFICS

• We are offering a competitive package from £70,000 pa (subject to location, skills, experience and track record)
• For this role you would be considered an expert in fire safety and strategy.
• The majority of our work around London. This role also has a national remit and you will be required to travel outside of London from time to time, so you must have the flexibility and willingness to travel as required.
