Profile Criteria:

Qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with solid post-qualification experience gained in industry (banking or wider financial services)
Solid statutory accounting and financial control experience with the ability to improve finance and accounting processes
FRS 102 and UK reporting experience (but will be open to IFRS or UK GAAP experience as well)
Immediately available (or available on a short notice period (1-month or less)
Nice personality and easy-to-engage-with manner to fit into a very friendly and collaborative working culture
As a bonus, the following would benice to have but not essential (as senior finance management would like to add some additional experience and skills to strengthen the overall team) - someone with additional tax reporting (either VAT or Corporation Tax),Treasury (understanding treasury and investment products in regards to Financial Control activities), or Change Management / finance process improvementexperience

Role Purpose:

Enhance the Banks financial reporting and control function.
Support the month end reporting close, particularly ensuring that bank, swap and investment revaluations and other key balance sheet and income statement footings are updated in a timely and controlled manner. Particular focus on Treasury related monthlyactivities and postings.
Participate in the year end audit, ensuring that information requirements are delivered on time, with least budget overrun whilst maintaining good relations with internal and external audit.
Embed strong processes to mitigate risk in the financial reporting & control environment for treasury products, ensuring that all processes are documented in up-to-date policy and procedure documents.
Ensure that key controls are in place over the critical Treasury booking functions including review and production as appropriate of various reconciliations.
Support related reporting functions in Regulatory, Treasury and ILAAP / ICAAP, providing constructive challenge across finance and the wider business to understand and improve the banks capital, liquidity and financial reporting situation
Support development of the wider Finance team and their goals.
