Job Description

We have an urgent opportunity for a Senior Financial accountant for a 5 month contract working for a leading and reputable brand. You will support the preparation for the year-end audit, tax returns and other various ad-hoc projects.Responsibilities will be -

  • Preparation and review of the Groups Annual Report, including updating for relevant legislation and accounting standard updates.
  • Ownership of various ad-hoc projects related to the preparation for the year-end audit
  • Management of the interim audit procedures request list and assisting in managing the audit relationship.
  • Assisting the Group Tax Manager in the preparation of tax returns and associated schedules to support them.
  • Preparation of key schedules for subsidiary financial statements.
  • Ad-hoc technical projects and analysis, including management of new accounting standards and analyst queries
  • Support to monthly close and review processes.
  • Collaboration with and support to peers in finance on reporting processes (e.g. annual FTSE reporting) and projects (e.g. new accounting standards).
You will be qualified with an accountancy qualification ACCA/ACA, with 3-4 years post qualification experience.IFRS 16 experience would be good and practical experience in solving technical problems relating to data and to accounting challenges, including management of imperfect or irregular dataYou must have a strong understanding of the IFRS reporting regime for mid-cap listed groups, an ability to translate complexity and risk into relevance and generate confidence in the ability to manage technical challenges. Ideally you would have FTSE investorexperience and experience working as an auditor or with large audit teams, BIG 4 exposure would be great.The role will be based in London 2- 3 days per week with the option to work remotely/ hybrid.Looking to pay up to £450 per day PAYE ( inside IR35).
