Senior Finance Manager

Key Responsibilities and Accountability:

Direct line management, including motivation and development of a finance team of 5.
Review balance sheet reconciliations and co-ordinate production of accurate management accounts and re-forecasts.
Supervise, co-ordinate and review production of annual budgets in adherence with group deadlines.
Identify and implement financial process improvements and efficiency in reporting, business partnering and the distribution of work between onshore and offshore teams.
Review and approval of business reviews prepared by Management Accountants, assisting with commentary where required.
Oversee debtor management and credit control, assisting with complex issues where necessary
Preparation of payroll submissions and final approval of payroll files.
Act as key contact for auditors and tax advisors, overseeing statutory audit for UK businesses
Oversight and sign-off of VAT returns and other statutory returns and filings.
Ensuring financial controls are in place and that compliance with Group policy is adhered to.
Design and implement other ad-hoc reporting, analysis, and management information as required.

Essential skills and experience

A qualified accountant with previous experience leading a full finance function covering management accounting, financial and transactional reporting.
Confident with good technical skills and able to advise and challenge on accounting matters.
Strong Excel skills with aptitude to understand systems and how to use them for the benefit of financial reporting.

Desirable

Experience of system implementation would be desirable, as would be working across multiple businesses and/or with an offshore service provider.
