Purpose of the postThe Senior Finance Business Partner will be a key member of the HDR UK team, supporting the Finance Director and Executive Directors in the effective andefficient management of finance and risk at HDRUK and provide business support to the designated business departments.Main Responsibilities Working with budget holders to manage financial performance, forecasts and budget variances including understandingfinancial opportunities and risk for the area of business partnership Analysing and delivering insight that links financial reports to business strategies Ability to build and model strategic financial frameworks and provide analysis and commentary for presentationto the Executive and the Board Delivering analysis and insight on new opportunities; providing options and scenarios for business decisions Provide robust support and challenge on all projects and business cases Improving the impact, and understanding, offinancial reporting on business performance Understanding the cost drivers of the business and providing insight to the non-finance members Providing effective processes, to ensure key operational and financial targets are delivered Financial management andreporting of donor contracts Building partnerships and strong relationships with donors and other key internal and external stakeholders Challenging current ways of working, driving efficiencies and cost savings wherever possible Assisting with year-end auditContribute to the development of the Finance Department strategy and delivery plan Provide training/advice to individuals internal and external to the Finance department Assist with ad hoc reporting & analysis and other activities as required by managementContinuousimprovementHDR UK is dedicated to continuous improvement through our quality management system and demonstrated by our commitment to achieve ISO 9001 accreditation. The post-holder will review, analyse, identify and implement opportunities for quality improvementwithin their specialism and as part of the wider team through our strategy development and internal audit processes.Key contacts/relationshipsThe post holder will build and maintain effective working relationships both within HDR UK, and our partner organisationsincluding grant recipients. The Senior Finance Business Partner will have close working relationships with the HDR UK Finance Director, Head of Finance, the wider finance team and other members of the HDR UK team. The Senior Finance Business Partner will alsohave close working relationships with key external donors and with service providersKnowledge, skills and experience Essential CCAB qualified with operational finance experience Experience of donor management Experience of working in a multinational, listedor Big 4 environment Experience of strategic analysis and business case assessments Experience of financial leadership, management and development of team members Excellent quantitative skills, use of excel and finance and accounting systems Excellent writtenand verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively and confidently with people at all levels. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to handle sensitive issues positively Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to managecompeting priorities in a fast-paced environment and to working in an agile, flexible and pragmatic way Ability to lead and work as part of a team Ability to work autonomously and make decisions without supervision Ability to process complex information andpresent targeted messages to different audiences.Desirable Previous experience in a commercial technology, services or retail organisation, or multinational non-profit Experience with managing external service relationships Experience of managing stakeholderrelationships within an academic or not-for-profit environment Experience of multidisciplinary team workingDimensions This is a full-time role All HDR UK roles are primarily based at the London offices, however we flexibly work across a number of geographicallocations. Travel may be required to HDR UK locations and partner organisations.
