Job Description

Senior Exhibitions Producer, Museum, London, maternity cover c12 month ftc, full time, paying £33,400.Our client, a world-renowned Museum based in London requires a Senior Exhibitions Producer, to manage the day-to-day development and delivery of high-quality Public Engagement and Learning programmes.The main duties of the Senior Exhibitions Producer role are:

  • Delivering high quality participation and formal and informal learning experiences for audiences
  • Managing the day to day development and delivery of high-quality Public Engagement & Learning programmes and working collaboratively across the team
  • Take forward Strategy, aligning with an evolving programme in a collaborative, creative & agile way
  • Working independently as well as across different teams to contribute to and deliver priorities
  • Delivering excellent customer service, ensure value for money at all times
  • Adhering to all corporate standards, and use corporate systems as directed to ensure consistency of service, brand and operational standards
  • Working with Executive Producers to create, develop and deliver distinctive programmes from idea generation, through concept, interpretation, development and active delivery, working with partners
  • Managing elements of projects and assigning work to Producers, or external contractors; recruiting and developing a team of external contractors and freelancers to provide advice/consultancy/delivery
  • Line-manage Producer/s within to deliver the programme in line with the Strategy & frameworks
  • Working with Executive Producers to pilot, test, evaluate & continually develop a seasonal approach to programming developing public engagement through a shared approach
  • Embedding programming with innovative & creative production values & ambitious digital elements
  • Actively ensuring all programmes are inclusive by identifying appropriate target audiences
  • Working proactively with the other Senior Producers to identify of commonalities in projects and delivery
  • Provide evaluative contributions and meaningful analytical engagement for the assigned projects
  • Managing budgets through forecasting, day-today maintenance and actual spend
  • Deputising for the Executive Producers internally and externally as appropriate
  • Maintaining an active interest in developments in public engagement and learning
  • Support production of departmental financial planning, budgeting and tracking KPIs
  • Manage operational budget for department
Skills and experience
  • Previous experience working in public engagement and learning, preferably in a heritage organisation
  • Excellent project management and partner experience in a public engagement and/or learning context
  • Experience of developing innovative, creative and intellectually sound public engagement & learning
  • Excellent communication and team working skills and experience of working with multiple stakeholders across a large, complex organisation, and externally, to achieve results
  • Good experience of targeting work to specific audiences and creating relevant and dynamic programmes
  • Flexible working style with ability to move between projects adeptly
  • Sound knowledge of formal and informal learning practices with particular experience of working with one or more of these audience groups: schools, families, young people, adults
  • Line-management experience and experience of working with contractors
  • Large-scale event management skills
  • Ability to prioritise a varied workload & work accurately under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Effective interpersonal skills - the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people
  • Ability to manage and monitor budgets
  • Good knowledge of all Microsoft packages including Excel
  • A flexible approach to work and good team-working skills
