Job Description

Senior Energy and Sustainability ConsultantLondon£60,000 - £70,000A leading commercial property and development consultancy are looking for a Senior Energy and Sustainability consultant to make an impact within their well established Sustainability team. The successful individual will aid in the growth of their UK-wideenergy performance and net zero carbon services. As well as having career progression opportunities and receiving training and mentoring to achieve relevant Accreditations and Charterships.Duties

  • Help clients understand their energy performance and net zero carbon needs by advising on the best practices and indicating new industry opportunities.
  • Undertake appraisals of both new developments and existing buildings as part of due diligence for investors, focusing on energy and carbon considerations such as MEES compliance, net zero carbon and operational energy performance.
  • Support in leading project teams to implement energy and sustainability best practices and encourage innovation by inspiring the teams through site visits, meetings, workshops, and problem-solving sessions.
  • Carry out and manage energy performance certifications projects and assess the evidence presented and create simulation models.
  • Commence dynamic simulation modelling required to address environmental assessments credit requirements.
  • Support colleagues in developing climate change resilience strategies (addressing both the impacts of climate change on energy demand and cost over time at an asset level).
  • Prepare case studies, award submission content and blogs.
Requirements
  • Working knowledge energy and carbon consultancy environment ideally supporting Real Estate clients.
  • Skilled in assessing technical data and architectural drawings. Expertise in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office packages. An understanding of Revit, Google SketchUp, Python, MATLAB, VBA, Rhino or similar would also be advantageous.
  • Experience delivering complex projects within the build environment, building services or engineering, and in the development of low carbon energy strategies.
  • Knowledge of energy modelling including asset and operational assessments, UK energy and sustainability policy framework and legislation, Building Regulations.
  • Knowledge of Revit and BIM.
  • An understanding of M&E systems within properties, including implementation of low energy and carbon design.
  • Ability to build and maintain client relationships.
