A large Government organisation based in Westminster, London has an immediate requirement for a Senior DevOps EngineerDue to the nature of the environment you must hold current and valid Security Clearance.Youll be supporting the development of the next generation of the Analytical Platform, which integrates a large number of open source components and runs on a Kubernetes platform. Youll own the operation of the modern technologies that makes up the platform, from a simple Django app through to the infrastructure, third-party SaaS services.As a member of our Analytic Platform team you will often work with data scientists, so it is essential to have some exposure to common data tools and techniques.Responsibilities include:Transforming technical requirements into automated processes including managing tools and testing environments, central code control, maintaining development standards and writing software that automates systemsDeliver automated software components that form part of a toolchain and transform technical requirements into automated processesBuild complex stories without additional supportBe able to manage live test environmentsIdentify and resolve issues preventing delivery.Share knowledge of tools and techniques with the wider team and technical/non-technical communitiesLine management of other webops engineersEssential Skills/Experience:Development process optimisation Modern standards approach Programming and build (software engineering) - Collaborates with others when necessary to review specifications and use these to design, code, test and document programmes or scripts of medium to high complexity, using the right standards and tools.Service support - Identifies, locates and competently fixes faults.Systems design - Translates logical designs into physical designs. Systems integration - Able to build and test simple interfaces between systemsIn addition, you will have excellent working knowledge of AWS, Kubernetes and Terraform, experience with python and bash scripting, git and familiar with a wide range of managed services and open source components.Please note this role is Inside IR35 and therefore, the rate of £750 is based on working via an Umbrella Company.
