Job Description

An exciting new opportunity to help create and then help run a Chief Data Office at a senior level.Applicants require a strong focus on Data Warehouse Management, Quality Controls, Data Governance and Lineage.Responsibilities

  • Establish data governance frameworks including developing appropriate frameworks, processes, roles and responsibilities along with effective training and support to ensure that roles and behaviour change are embedded.
  • Serve as a liaison between business areas and technology to ensure that data related business requirements for improvement of data are clearly defined, communicated, understood and prioritised.
  • Facilitate resource/stakeholder engagement on data governance initiatives, including the adoption and maintenance of the Enterprise Data Model; Data Lineage; Data Dictionary & Business Glossary.
  • Agree and roll out appropriate business rules relating to the handling of data & certification of golden sources of data.
  • Work with colleagues in the Data Strategy Program to assist in establishing reporting frameworks on data quality, defining data quality dimensions applicable to the critical data elements, with appropriate data quality standards and metrics.
  • Work with colleagues in the Data Strategy Program & data owners in the business to develop and manage projects to drive improvements to data quality, establishing sustainable data quality processes.
  • Develop and manage support systems for the Data Governance Council & data stewards, including induction and training.
  • Ensure good quality information flows within the Data Governance Council and between the Data Governance Council and executive management.
  • Work closely with management at various levels to develop and implement the Data Governance Councils forward roadmap and work programme.
  • Interpret regulatory data requirements and provide guidance in projects undertaken to meet new or existing regulations.
  • Adoption of best practice by analytics teams - ensuring adoption of approved data sources; encouraging knowledge sharing across teams and development of LME data analytics community
  • Ensuring data usage is consistent with and visible to information security requirements
  • Responsible for the Data function resilience
  • Responsible for determining the Data function resilience metrics and thresholds
  • Takes part in the critical business service assessments
  • Support the Data function owner in remediating resilience issues
  • General Skillset
  • Have knowledge of industry leading data quality and data management practices.
  • Have knowledge of data governance practices, business and technology issues related to management of enterprise information assets and approaches related to data management.
  • Have demonstrated consulting skills, with change management concepts and strategies, including communication, culture change and performance measurement system design.
  • Demonstrable experience working with large-scale data or project management and oversight experience.
  • An understanding of Data Architecture, Metadata, Data Lifecycles, Data Quality Standards and Logical Data Modelling practices.
  • The ability to understand and produce moderately complex data flows.

  • Proven experience of developing and implementing a Data Governance Framework and a Data Quality Management service.
  • Knowledge of the regulatory landscape and data governance tools and methods available. Ideally experienced in Collibra and linking to various sources.
  • Proven knowledge of Data Profiling, Data Definitions/Data Catalogue Management, root cause analysis and reference data management.
  • Excellent Data Literacy skills, able to work with less data literate customers to support and achieve required outcomes.
  • Experienced in hosting business & technology workshops for stakeholders of all levels.
  • Good experience in desktop analytical and formatting skills including Excel, Python, SQL, VBA or other scripting language.
  • Experienced in producing moderately complex data & business process flows.
