Our in-house systems process every learner from registration to marking and certification,in a highly regulated business. We currently operate a hybrid estate of predominantly bespoke systems, with an ongoing strategic transformation programme to migrate from on-prem to cloud based, cost effective, scalable and resilient services.About the JobThe position is for a Data Management & Analytics Analyst, who has experience working with large data focused projects, and whose responsibility is around the transformation of data from legacy systems to modern cloud microservice based applications, alongwith working towards better methods of exploiting this data in terms of analytics and reporting. As such there will be work involving data pipelines, transformation strategies, and helping to establish a more advanced data reporting platform, with a mediumto longer-term view of full data warehousing.Currently we are in the middle of a large programme to transform a legacy estate to AWS, and therefore there is a large amount of data hosted in platforms such as Oracle and SQL server that needs to be linked in with new microservices, using CDC technology,along with making this and new microservice mastered data available for both end user reporting and downstream consumption of other data platforms.This role involves working with business SMEs, product owners, architects, and developers, hence excellent communication and analysis skills are required.There will also be attendance to various senior stakeholder meetings to explain project progress, design ideas and decisions etc, so good communication & planning skills are essential, with the ability to put things into non-technical terms for the wideraudience.About YouThis would suit someone with a background in complex data transformation projects, from legacy to cloud preferably, and who is looking to work on fast moving projects and contribute to design decisions. The role is aligned to either our Rotherham or central London offices. Our Rotherham office is located at Junction 1 of the M18, making it commutable from Sheffield, Leeds, Doncaster, Derby or Nottingham.We have successfully worked from home throughout the pandemic, but ave adopted hybrid working now national restrictions are lifted; for this role that means visiting your base office no more than once a week with the possibility of occasional travel to otherPearson sites, however, adjustments to this due to personal circumstances & preferences are possible.We work a 37.5-hour week, with all our team free to flex their day around our core hours, which are Monday to Friday, 10 to 4 GMT/BST. School runs, etc can be accommodated. Other flexible working patterns can be considered, including part-time working andnon-traditional hours. As we regularly work with global teams, particularly in India and the US, there may be the occasional need to accommodate meetings outside of core hours.
