Job Description

Permanent Position Required: Senior Data Engineer My Client, An Arms - Length Body of the NHS who specialise in Claims and Insurance is looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join the team permanently.Location: Canary Wharf, LondonTravel requirements: 2 days needed onsite a week at the London OfficeCirca Salary: £50,000The Data Engineer will:

  • Work with the IT team to plan and coordinate data engineering deployment and upgrades
  • Be responsible for the ongoing performance of database objects (procedures, reporting views and base tables)
  • Lead on the development and maintenance of the database systems including the underlying design, inform on the ETL processes, understand data marts design and existing reporting layers
  • Liaise with stakeholders to understand and manage their strategic data needs.
  • Communicate with Business Partner Team and leads maintain a good communication channel establishing strong links to support highly complex developments
  • Create, modify, and review bespoke procedures and views using complex TSQL to support the organizational reporting layer. (SQL, SSRS, Power DE or Excel)
  • Build extremely complex T-SQL code including the use of dynamic SQL to reduce the complexities from reporting layer used by Business Partners, Data Analyst and Data Science Team
  • Maintain Development of database objects within DevOps using integrated development environment
  • Participate in scoping and understanding the transition of CRM migration between the current system and other systems the organization is migrating to
  • Identify and solve a range of problems within our current data object delivery
The Data Engineer will have:
  • Experience Designing and Implementing Microsoft DevOps Solutions Certification Experience of managing multiple databases and DBA knowledge
  • Experience of designing, developing, and managing ETL Processes
  • Experience of using Power BI and creating reports/analysing data using it
  • Extensive experience of complex SQL code to include development of scripts, functions, procedures, views, and dynamic SQL
  • Experience of designing, developing, and managing data warehouses or other complex relational databases
  • Experience of using and building Azure or other cloud-based solutions
  • Intermediate Level of MS Access, Word, Outlook, Visio, and SharePoint
  • The Ability to work autonomously on a day-to-day basis, to work within broad occupational policies and targets and meet with manager at regular intervals to discuss progress, complex issues or areas of concern
