I am currently recruiting a new Senior Credit Risk Analyst (Remote role) to work for a well know Energy company based in Central London, but its totally remote This is an initial temporary contract for 6 monthClient DetailsMy client Customers business serves over 200,000 business customers and is the largest supplier of electricity to business customers in Britain. Customers also supplies energy and energy services to over 5.3m residential customer accounts across the UK.. They are looking to recruit someone for a temporary contract of an initial period of 6 month.DescriptionSenior Credit Risk Analyst (Remote role):* Assess the creditworthiness of new and renewing business customers, in accordance with internal processes. Including, credit score interrogation, payment history, sector outlook, financial ratio analysis and detailed news checks* Perform ongoing analysis and monitoring of counterparty/customers credit risk exposure and provide efficient and insightful credit risk reporting, analysis and data validation, responding dynamically to business and market developments* Work with Commercial and Legal teams to understand the contractual value vs risk balance* Represent the Senior Manager of Credit Risk Control on projects that have an impact on Credit Risk, ensuring that all areas of credit risk are considered and consistent with policy* Deliver credit risk commentary, advice and expert analysis to commercial teams, senior management and group through regular reporting requirements and ad hoc requests* Gain expert knowledge of credit scoring agencies scorecards and processes, including Dunn & Bradstreet and Experian* Support Senior Manager of Credit Risk Control, in the operation of the various Credit Risk committees* Support/develop the Credit Risk Control analyst community* Promote and embed a culture of good governance, risk awareness and compliance across the organisation Dimensions* This role has no line management responsibilities, but some support / oversight of analysts will be required* Working alongside 3 Analysts and 4 Senior Analysts* Stakeholders across (UK) - Sales and Marketing (I&C, SME, Resi), WMO, Generation, Supply Chain up to Director level Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Experience Knowledge & Skills* Awareness of credit risk methodologies and management techniques* Understanding of and ability to interpret financial statements (further training will be provided)* Commercial acumen with the ability to understand complex commercial and contractual matters * Good understanding of the UK energy markets* Strong IT and modelling skills (Excel; MS Access) - Python/SQL would be an advantage* Able to establish and maintain effective internal and external business relationships with key stakeholders at all levelsProfileSuccessful Candidate:* Developed communication and negotiating skills* Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills* Strong organisational and time management skills with a high level of attention to detail* Ability to innovate and design new concepts* Interest in keeping up with business news, knowledge of UK corporate history Qualifications & Experience* Educated to undergraduate degree level in a numerical/analytical subject* Part qualified accountant or business analyst certification (desirable but not essential)* Knowledge of I&C/SME operations* Internal and/or external stakeholder management Key Competencies* Ability to learn new processes quickly and take responsibility for output* Confident in decision making, but knowing when to ask for help* An interest in understanding how transactions can go wrong!* Driven by a responsibility to protect our business from credit losses* Keen to become a business expert, capable of providing advice to business units* Able to support team members with care and consideration* Enjoy working in a busy, pressurised (but fun) environment* Influencing others and effective stakeholder management* Striving for efficiency* Sound judgement and decision making* Ensure that Health, Safety, Wellbeing, and a culture of inclusion is embedded across the organisationJob OfferThe successful candidate will be paid £25/h - £30/h depending on experience.DO NOT APPLIED IF YOU DO NOT RESIDE IN THE UK!
