Job Description Exciting opportunity for a Senior Project Manager to join a leading organization with a busy roadmap of work inflight and coming up. JOB SUMMARYAs a Project Manager, you will be based within the Design and Build Team, responsible for the full project lifecycle, from bid stage through to project handover. You will oversee the on-site installation, support, and maintenance of specialist smart buildingtechnology across a number of well-established Client sites. You will have strong track record in managing systems projects. Delivering smart technologies including, Security Systems, Passive and Active Network Solutions, Audio-Visual, IoT and Wired, Wireless & Mobile Networks. You will have full P&L responsibility for the projects including planning and progress management and completing the projects on time and on budget. You will be an excellent communicator both written and verbal inspiring your team and building confidence in external stakeholders including clients, subcontractors, other trade contractors and designers. You will be responsible for managing and coordinating on-site installations teams, liaising with site personnel to ensure all works are coordinated whilst managing all documentation. You will also provide consistently high levels of customer service, this beinga vital part of the role, and achieved by working diligently to accurately interpret and deliver our customers needs. You will demonstrate your commitment to the health and safety of all our people and those impacted by our work. Key Tasks and Responsibilities:Pre-sales and Bid Stage:
  • Support Pre-sales with operational guidance during the tender and bid process.
  • Define the preliminary requirements for the projects and review and agree the cost estimates.
  • Provide programs, resource histograms, delivery methodologies, organisation charts and other project delivery content for the bid.
  • Advise on contractual lessons learnt and ensure appropriate terms are included and high risk terms are removed or amended.
Pre-Commencement:
  • Agree the project methodology at project initiation stage, ensuring that the project RACI matrix is complete and understood.
  • Engage with project teams to ensure all technical resources are aligned with project requirements and timescales.
  • Manage all pre-construction documentation, materials, and workforce requests.
  • Take responsibility for and manage the design development process ensuring any gaps between our tendered deliverables, contractual obligations and the employers/customer requirements are identified and managed.
  • Define key milestones, Procurement Schedules, Cash flows and application timetable.
  • Ensure that fully resourced integrated programmes are created and issued to the main contractor at the earliest opportunity, identifying the critical path and all interdependencies.
  • Review the contract documentation and ensure the team fully understand the technical and contractual requirements as it impacts their function.
  • Prepare the detailed, monthly cost forecast.
Project Delivery:
  • Provide inspirational leadership for the project team.
  • Support recruitment, retention and development of the best talent for the project team.
  • Own the production process for client construction and as built documentation.
  • Plan the design programme with the design manager and drive the design team to deliver on time, to budget, a quality solution.
  • Adhere to key milestones, sectional completion, and handover dates.
  • Update the programme at least once per week.
  • Manage the costs in the project accurately reforecast every month.
  • Conduct regular site walks looking at health and safety, team morale, quality and progress.
Client Relation and Third-Party Management:
  • Develop constructive relationships with trade contractors LMG coordinate with.
  • Deal with client requests professionally and in a timely manner.
Knowledge:
  • Understand the process of full project delivery from pre-construction through to handover, including changes to the design and materials, sample submittals, benchmarking each stage, quality checking, snagging, client/manufacturer testing parameters, witnesstesting, and accurate documentation and record keeping.
  • Understand what testing criteria is required for the installation by the Client, sometimes not aligned to Manufacturers warranty requirements, but could include off-site testing, fibre end-face testing, 100% testing of the installation, and % of witnesstesting by the Client.
  • Understand the environment in which the Company operates and thorough awareness of the departmental impact on Company success.
  • Possess an understanding of the operational costs, profits, and commercial impact of actions and decisions to the business.
QualificationsEssential
  • ECS Card
  • SMSTS
  • Full, clean Driving Licence.
Desirable
  • PRINCE2, APM, CTPM (Project Management Certification)
  • Minimum 5 A*-C GCSEs, including Maths or English.
  • First Aid
  • IPAF or PASMA.
  • PAT testing
ExperienceEssential
  • At least 5 years relevant practical experience in a similar role.
  • Management of systems or structured cabling projects.
