Job DescriptionWe are looking for a Senior Compliance Manager to cover maternity leave - this person will work within the broader advisory team, taking ownership of key relationships and initiatives for Octopus AIFM, and supporting the work of the wider Compliance team as required. Part time working (4 days per week) could be considered for the right candidate. The Octopus Compliance department features an exciting and interesting team, with a goal to protect the business by embedding compliance culture, promoting customer obsession, and supporting Octopus core values: Be straight forward; be bold; and be helpful. The team has a broad remit, covering all parts of the firms asset management business and is looking for someone to lead on providing compliance support to Octopus AIFM on a temporary basis to cover maternity leave. The successful candidate will be somebody who is keen to add value and propose solutions beyond the basic expectations of compliance. There will be certain key partnerships within the firm that you will form and it is essential that you look to become a key partner. You will have the opportunity to develop a clear strategy for how you will perform your role at Octopus, and be able to make it happen. Key responsibilities

  • Provide high quality, pragmatic compliance advice, training and support to the business on AIFMD
  • Ensure that AIFM required policies and procedures are in place and maintained (or assist the business with doing so where ownership rests within the first line of defence).
  • Advise the AIFM Senior Management and Board on the discharge of the firms responsibilities under AIFMD
  • Assist the wider Compliance team as required
  • Qualifications
  • A solid foundation of investment compliance knowledge, with demonstrable experience in AIFMD compliance
  • Compliance experience with one of the following asset classes is preferable: venture capital, private equity, real estate
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships working in second line of defence role
  • Well organised with the ability to multitask and prioritise workload
  • Team player with a can-do attitude
