Job Description

Contact: Permanent Full -Time Salary: Depending on ExperienceSenior Commercial Pricing Analyst: Our dynamic Commercial Underwriting department are looking to bring on board a talented and experienced Senior Pricing Analyst to join our expanding team either in our London or Gloucester office.The Senior Pricing Analysts will be responsible for leading and designing innovative analytics projects to improve the profitability of the Commercial SME business by supporting the development of pricing strategies to help provide robust insight into market tends. The Senior Pricing Analyst will be responsible for carefully monitoring and analysing account performances whilst continuously reviewing, developing creative pricing solutions from both structured and unstructured data using a combination of analytical skills and underwriting experience.Main responsibilities of the Senior Pricing Analyst:

  • Design and lead innovative analytics projects to improve the profitability of the Commercial SME business.
  • Monitor and analyse trading performance in order to deliver tactical recommendations to support trading objectives in a profitable manner.
  • Identify efficiency improvements in pricing processes in Commercial SME and the wider pricing department challenging the current way of working where it is inefficient.
  • Review work of junior and peer review senior analysts to ensure high quality delivery, offering constructive and coaching feedback to improve insight.
  • Continuously improve knowledge of business systems and process while also keeping abreast of market trends and developments.
  • Identify and deliver improvements to pricing MI to improve the quality of future pricing analytics.
  • Mange and identify the risks of the Commercial SME pricing team in line with company risk framework.
    • The successful Senior Commercial Pricing Analyst will have the following:
  • You will be educated to at least degree level or equivalent in a numerically focused subject.Knowledge of Emblem and Radar software for modelling and optimisation is advantageous..
  • An analytical mindset who likes to ask questions and use data to answer them.
  • Strong understanding of Commercial and SME insurance along with its business drivers.
  • You will have an understanding of Machine Learning techniques and a desire to further improve these.
  • Highly numerate and able to evidence leading projects to deliver high quality, robust insight at pace.
  • Be able to communicate your findings and recommendations in a clear and concise manner in order to influence and persuade stakeholders.
  • You will be comfortable working either as part of a team or as an individual.
  • Have experience of leading successful analytics projects in insurance pricing or a similar financial services role.
  • You will have good leadership qualities and be able to coach and develop more junior members of the team.
