Job Description

The roleShawbrook are looking to recruit a Senior Collections & Recoveries Manager for our Business Finance Division. The role is part of the Collections and Recoveries team and will be primarily focused on the Business Finance division.The role holder is responsible for the management and oversight of Business Finance arrears cases, mitigating losses whilst ensuring we deliver fair customer outcomes.Reporting into the Bank’s COO function, the role holder will be required to work closely with the Business Finance Non-Performing Loan (NPL) and Credit Risk teams to ensure business expertise is utilised to deliver an appropriate and fair customer outcome.Responsible for the management and oversight of the internal C&R team which supports the Business Finance division; the role currently has 2 direct reports with a total team of 10 (includes the 2 direct reportsResponsibilitiesKey responsibilities of the role include:

  • Responsible for the oversight and management of the C&R team which supports the Business Finance division as well as defining and executing a clear strategy for the management of cases which fall under the responsibility of that C&R team. These cases will typically be Asset Finance deals.
  • Oversee, direct and advise first line colleagues in relation to individual case management.
  • To comply with the requirements of the regulatory regime which the Bank operates within, ensuring the necessary documentation detailing strategies, policies and procedures are maintained and updated. Including the management of vulnerable customers.
  • Working closely with the Divisional Head of NPL management, ensure that the appropriate impairment assessments are made for cases which fall under the management of C&R.
  • Work closely with the Quality Assurance teams to ensure that robust checks are carried out to evidence that fair customer outcomes are delivered. Present the monthly QA findings to the divisional Risk Committee including action plans to address any adverse findings.
  • Ensure robust KPIs and reporting is in place to track the performance of the C&R team, including customer outcome, effectiveness and efficiency measures.
  • Prepare and present papers for approval / noting, including performance MI via the Local and Group governance structure.
  • Full understanding and delivery of the Group Impairment, Forbearance, Arrears Management and Credit Stewardship policies which are relevant to the role, ensuring that adherence to these policies can be evidenced.
  • Responsible for ensuring that forbearance is considered and granted where appropriate across the team and in line with the delegated mandate provided by the COO.
  • Working with the Divisional NPL teams, design and implement a clear interaction framework between the Divisional teams, Group Risk and C&R. Ensure responsibilities, points of hand off and oversight from the second line is clearly defined.
  • The PersonSuitable candidates will have the following experience:
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience of operating and managing within a C&R / Credit Risk environment.
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience of managing a C&R / Credit Risk team(s).
  • Ideally a minimum of 2 years direct experience of Asset Finance.
  • Experience of SME / corporate lending.
  • A developed understanding of the regulatory environment applicable to mortgage problem loan management required.
  • Excellent understanding and experience of Asset Finance portfolios.
  • Good understanding of CCA and CONC regulations relating to Asset Finance and Collections practices.
  • BandingThis role is an SB3 in the Shawbrook Bank banding structure
