Job Description

Senior Claims Adjuster - Political ViolenceLondonNegotiable Salary + Excellent Benefits + BonusWe are currently recruiting for a Senior Claims Adjuster on behalf of our client, a very well-established and highly regarded Lloyds syndicate.Reporting into the Property Claims Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of the Political Violence Claims adjudication process, providing management and clients with an efficient and effective claims service.Key Responsibilities

  • Agreeing valid claims, as well as establishing and maintaining reserves for complex and large claims.
  • Carrying out negotiations with brokers, face to face as required, on claims where the Syndicate is the leader or second lead.
  • Supervising and monitoring organisations where the Syndicate has delegated claims authority.
  • Notifying and reporting claims notifications to Underwriters and senior management as necessary.
  • Handling litigated cases in relevant jurisdictions.
  • Leading the delivery of projects outside of your claims-related responsibilities.
  • Supporting senior leadership within the Claims team, helping the department to achieve its broader objectives.
  • Representing the Syndicate at conferences and market events.
  • Maintaining Actuarial and IBNR records.
  • Handling claims electronically, predominantly via ECF and DocoSoft.
Key Requirements
  • Must have experience of handling Direct and Facultative Reinsurance Claims in the Lloyds / London Market, within the Construction, Property, Treaty, and Downstream Energy & Power classes.
  • Experience in PV, Terror, Crop and Farm Claims, as well as any of the Aviation classes, is preferred but not essential.
  • Ability to handle complex claims at all stages, from discovery process through to obtaining judgement.
  • Experience of delivering projects additional to your core role i.e. projects linked to delivering the business strategy or implementing function-wide change.
  • Qualified or studying towards ACII.
  • Litigation, mediation, dispute resolution and deposition skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Full working knowledge of ECF and DocoSoft.
