Job Description

The Business Risk Sr Officer II is a strategic professional who closely follows latest trends in own field and adapts them for application within own job and the business. Recognized subject matter expert within one area. Strong commercial awareness isa necessity. Is an acknowledged authority both within and outside area of expertise. Typically a small number of people within the business that provide the same level of expertise. Excellent communication skills required in order to negotiate internally,often at a senior level. Some external communication is typically required. Provides advanced judgment and conducts in-depth quantitative or qualitative analysis to solve problems and develop new, innovative solutions. Required to think beyond existing solutions,assumptions or current knowledge of sophisticated areas. Significant impact on a function and/or the business through making decisions that determine technical approaches and strategies for the area. Further the senior-level position responsible for workingwith senior stakeholders in project management in standing up functions with ICM. Position entails leading activities that include setting up operating model for credit reviews and credit approvals, monitoring the portfolio to identify credit migration incoordination with the Risk Management team. The overall objective of this role is to manage Citis portfolio exposure to client and counterparties globally. Responsibilities:

  • Stand up the ICM function as roles and responsibilities move from 2LOD to ICM
  • Ensure ICM is adequately staffed to take on the new roles and responsibilities
  • Proactive portfolio risk management and continuous engagement across ICM and ICG businesses
  • Partner with various groups including Relationship Management and the Operating Committee
  • Maintain integrity of ICM CPE function whilst ensuring that the team continues to fully support Front Office relationship and sales staff
  • Ensure consistency with industry leading practices and conforms to all internal credit procedures/policies, and all related regulatory expectations
  • Help execute plans, strategy and objectives for Portfolio Monitoring in an effective and innovative fashion; assess and report progress in meetings objectives including promotion of a healthy working culture. Such plans may include mitigation/remediationplans to major exposures while negotiating with key business leaders to agree on an appropriate plan.
  • Creates monthly reporting to monitor Key Risk Indicator, metric triggers and thresholds in order to identify and communicate any emerging issues and develop action plans with the business owners.
  • Manage and monitor the day-to-day product risk and inform Management and Risk of counterparty or market developments materially impacting Citis counterparty exposure, as appropriate
  • Review cross-business trends and concentrations, escalate across 1LoD and 2LoD as needed
  • Own and review risk reports and metrics and incorporate applicable input from Markets
  • Underwrite margin standards and exceptions
  • Lead risk management activities associated with the Credit portfolios
  • Conduct internal oversight reviews
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firms reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adheringto Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Qualifications:
  • 15+ years of experience in financial services and risk management required
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills required.
  • Demonstrated sound business judgment. Proven track record in risk and control oversight (including significant experience in identifying risks, control issues, implementing corrective actions and best practices). Track record leading Control related projectsand programs..
Education:
  • Bachelors/University degree or equivalent experience, potentially Masters degree
