Job Description

Our client is a highly regarded global business. They have a need within their Regulatory Consulting practice for someone with broad retail financial services knowledge and experience who understands the operational, conduct, governance, risk and complianceneeds of clients. The clients range from major financial institutions and technology companies to FinTech start-ups. The work is high-profile and varied.You’ll be advising these clients on the impact of the changing regulatory market, providing guidance and support on regulatory compliance, risk management, and governance matters.Key responsibilities:

  • Strong working knowledge of industry processes and ability to actively think about them and how they apply to client situations
  • Demonstrate the ability to apply relevant policies and procedures, ethics, rules, and compliance principles in practice
  • Ability to simplify and provide clear and coherent advice on complex issues· To be solution focused; approaching problems on many different levels, able to locate useful supporting research and offer meaningful and practical recommendations
  • Ability to recognise changes in scope of instructions and client requirement changes, and raise them appropriately for discussion
  • Preparing documents that reflect clear and consistent thinking as well as knowledge of the problem and suggested solutions
  • Preparing sections of/reports and other documentation, meeting client needs with little supervision
  • Building good working relationships with clients and proactively working to develop and strengthen client engagements
  • Establishing networks and developing relationships in the firm as well as business communities
  • Contributing to the success of the practice area and industry sector by understanding the capabilities of other members and the practice strategic direction, and by identifying collaboration opportunities
  • Managing and prioritising deadlines whilst maintaining quality and accuracy of work
Knowledge, experience and qualifications:
  • Deep regulatory compliance experience within retail Financial Services, including Consumer Duty
  • Ideally a blend of consulting, regulator and industry experience, although consulting experience is not essential
  • Professional Financial Services qualification(s), e.g. CISI, ACII, ICA etc…
  • Project management experience/certifications
  • FCA handbook knowledge
  • Strong academic background, ideally to degree level
  • Experience of remediation/regulatory change programmes and implementation
The salary is extremely broad and based on skills and experience. The range is between £75k - £130k.Whilst this is an initial 12 month fixed-term-contract, there is scope for it to convert to a permanent role. Please apply now if interested.
