Who isn’t fascinated by time travelH.G. Wells first wrote about a time machine in 1895, unleashing a new sub-genre within science-fiction and carving the way for countless cult classics. Probably because time is one of the last great boundaries for humans to overcome. Now, 125 years later, we’re working with the tech company who’ve developed "the time machine of the web". Hanzo are looking to hire a Back End Developer for their new boundary breaking product in the world of legal-tech.Working as part of a remote first, distributed team, youll work on Hanzo’s new Hold product. The solution uses advanced analytics and ML to store data from team collaboration platforms. They already have a version of the Hold for Slack and due to the success of that solution, are now working on a new product for another collaboration platform. You’ll be working for Hanzo, a LegalTech SaaS business. They deal with data driven risk management and archiving solutions, using advanced analytics and machine learning to set them apart from the competition.Through one sophisticated platform, Hanzo’s products capture and preserve team messaging data, social media engagement and interactive web content. Then they replicate it in legally-defensible native format for analysis and review. They’re solving unique technical challenges at scale, which is why they can boast some of the biggest names in tech as their clients. Including Paypal, Twitter, Facebook, BBC, Uber and Lyft.Youll be part of a growing team of developers building out the core platform of Hanzo’s latest product. This includes microservices and any additional features, API development and enhancing integration capabilities. This is a DevOps environment, so youll also be involved with deployments. While all of that will keep you busy for the most part, you’ll also work on design, architecture and planning (15%) and have regular code reviews (15%).Python experience is ideal for this role, but solid backend programming in Java, C#, C++ or similar is considered. If you’ve been working in a full stack role with plenty of backend experience, that’s good too. You’ll need proven experience working on data driven and complex solutions. You’ll also need Cloud experience - ideally on AWS or GCP. DevOps skills are useful though not essential, as are skills in React (if youd like to be full stack).Tech snapshot: Python, React, GCP, Severless/Microservices, PubSub, Kubernetes, Google Data store. In return, you’ll get a market leading salary of £70,000. The role is fully remote as long as you’re based somewhere in the UK. Hanzo are a remote first company, their Engineering team are based in the UK. They arrange work trips every 4-6 weeks which are fully expensed to keep the team in touch with what everyone else is doing. Plus 25 days holiday, bank holidays, a pension and all the other benefits you’d expect.A Google Cloud partner, you’ll work on very modern tech. You’ll have the freedom to decide which tech stack works best for you as they value flexibility and autonomy. You’ll constantly face interesting technical challenges around advanced analytics and machine learning. That means you’ll get to be forward thinking in an environment where you’re constantly learning. So you can cement your position among the best in class. There’s a good reason we’re fascinated by the 4th dimension. It’s the future. And the past and present too.So if you’re up for an adventure, apply now. We’ll make sure we take the time to respond. Required skills
