Job Description

Senior Associate, Digital ForensicsStarting immediately, a Forensic and Investigative Professional Support Services Consultancy is looking for an Associate or Senior Associate in Digital Forensics.ResponsibilitiesDue to recent growth an opening has been created for a professional seeking to expand their experience in computer forensics. We are seeking an individual to assist with the execution and delivery of forensic collections and analyses, data processing, statisticaldata reporting, and other bespoke solutions.The ideal candidate should have a strong desire to learn new forensic techniques, troubleshooting abilities, experience with programming/scripting and an understanding of computer hardware, software, file systems, networks and the EDRM.Principle duties

  • Support and maintain digital forensic laboratories, equipment, and software
  • Utilise a variety of forensic software to identify, collect, preserve, extract and analyse electronic data from laptops, desktops, mobile devices, servers, cloud environments, backup tapes, and other storage media
  • Recover deleted user data, hidden data, file fragments and temporary files
  • Decrypt password protected/encrypted data files and devices
  • Co-ordinate and assist with data processing activities
  • Compose and/or contribute to official forensic reports for use by clients, law enforcement and/or governmental bodies
  • Manage and track electronic evidence to maintain a legally defensible chain of custody
  • Adhere to data privacy laws, data movement restrictions and evidence handling best practices in daily tasks and responsibilities
  • Develop custom forensic tools and scripts as needed
  • Serve as a centre of technical knowledge and expertise
  • Support clients and team members which will necessitate travel and availability in early mornings, evenings, and weekends
  • Assist with eDiscovery tasks such as data processing and review support and matters on an ad-hoc basis
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
  • Ideally a minimum of 1-2 years of relevant technical experience
  • Degree or equivalent qualification, preferably in Information Technology, Computer Science or related fields
  • Experience with computer forensics, cyber forensics, data processing, the EDRM, legal document review requirements and data privacy
  • Previous experience with digital forensic applications employed for collecting, preserving, and analysing data, such as FTK, EnCase, UFED, XRY, Oxygen, Axiom, X-Ways, Digital Collector, and Inspector.
  • Experience with processing tools such as Nuix and or Relativity preferred.
  • Excellent knowledge of Windows client and server environments
  • Experience with Unix and iOS
Previous experience interacting with internal and external stakeholders
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate with individuals at all levels
  • Flexibility to travel as needed, up to 30%
  • Proficiency in a second language preferred
