Job Description

Why apply for this roleIn this high-profile role as Senior Assistant Company Secretary, youll be providing high quality company secretarial support to the Santander Board, Committees, subsidiaries and associate boards.Youll be implementing senior management directives in regulatory and statutory compliance and enforcing governance and best practice throughout the Santander group.Youll play a critical role in maintaining high standards, systems and procedures which will be constantly reviewed and improved upon.If you are ACIS certified and want to be instrumental in providing a first-class Board support service, apply now.What youll be doing

  • Supporting the Board and Board Committees in a company secretarial capacity
  • Collating and circulating Board papers, preparing agendas and taking minutes of meetings
  • Contributing to the annual report and financial statements programme and the quarterly results announcement process
  • Providing specialist advice on new business and legislative developments/projects
  • Identifying statutory, compliance, corporate, governance and prudential control risk implications for Santanders companies in the UK
  • What youll be doing
  • Must be ACIS Certified
  • Extensive company secretarial experience in a listed company
  • In depth knowledge of governance, the mechanics of formal meetings and the relationship between ExCo and Board
  • Experience of working in a regulated environment, ideally financial services
  • Highly developed stakeholder management skills with experience of direct interaction with senior stakeholders (Chairman/non-Executive Director, Senior Executive level)
