Job Description

A leading Education firm currently requires a Senior Assessment Researcher to join them on a maternity leave contract. You will be a point of expertise for assessment-related research methodology and procedures, with a focus on providing evaluation and analyses of quantitative data. This is an 11 month contract which will initially be working from home with the expectation to return to the office in central London in the new year.You will be responsible for:

  • Initiate, design, carry out and disseminate research
  • Lead on and manage research projects, with responsibilities for overseeing research design, data collection and validation as well as budgets and timelines.
  • Plan assessment research procedures and advise/participate in research projects managed by others.
  • Apply, adapt or design research procedures to suit the purposes of the research.
  • Undertake literature reviews.
  • Manage data sources in a secure way, oversee the process of data cleaning and validation.
  • Undertake analysis of data collected via primary research or secondary sources and critically evaluate analytical methods applied.
  • Disseminate research outcomes internally and externally in the format that is most suitable to the intended audience.
  • Build appropriate data visualization tools to disseminate research outcomes.
  • Provide research expertise
  • Provide up-to-date guidance on research and evaluation methodologies and support others as necessary.
  • Source research papers and relevant materials on areas of research interest to the team.
  • Critically evaluate research outputs produced internally or externally on areas of research interest to the team.
    • RequirementsFor your application to qualify you will have the following;
  • Postgraduate degree, PhD in a field related to assessment, education, psychometrics, statistics, data science and/or econometrics.
  • Proficiency in multilevel and longitudinal modelling, multivariate methods and experimental design.
  • Proficiency in relevant analytical software (knowledge of R preferred).
  • Strong communication skills especially data visualization, report writing and presentation skills to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Knowledge of large national and international educational datasets such as National Pupil Database would be beneficial.
  • Knowledge of qualitative research methods would be beneficial
  • Excellent analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
