Job Description

We are working with a great private hospital in London who are recruiting for an experienced Senior Anesthetic Practitioner to join them in their theatre department.This is a full-time, permanent position, working 37.5 hours per week.Shifts: Shifts are Earlies & lates (7:30am - 3:30pm & 1:30pm - 9:30pm), and includes Saturday shifts.Senior Anaesthetic Nurse Job Role:You will be responsible for planning, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care without direct supervision. They are expected to demonstrate procedures and supervise qualified and unqualified staff. They will work as a skilled member of the anaestheticteam, providing the highest standard of care to all patients. In the absence of the Charge Nurse/ODP the post holder will have continuing responsibility for the management of the Anaesthetic Department, including the deployment of staff and use of equipmentand resources.Qualifications/Experience Required:

  • RGN/RODP
  • Recognised anaesthetic course
  • 3 years post graduate experience in Anaesthetics
  • Experience leading a multidisciplinary team
  • Experience of stock management
  • Evidence of continuing professional development.
  • Evidence of a wide knowledge of anaesthetic practices and procedures.
Senior Anaesthetic Nurse Duties:
  • To provide and demonstrate the highest standard of care in the anaesthetic specialty, ensuring skilled assistance to the Anaesthetist.
  • To devise, implement and assess individualised care plans for a wide and diverse patient group
  • To ensure an ongoing welcoming, inclusive, caring and safe environment is provided for our patients, visitors and colleagues, in line with the Clinics mission to be the most trusted hospital in London
  • To maintain and further develop clinical skills and knowledge and provide evidence-based care.
  • Ensure accurate and timely recording of information using the Meditech system and written notes, whilst maintaining security of patient information.
  • Ensure, in conjunction with the Charge Nurse/ODP and Theatre management, that all clinical staff are aware of and working to departmental and Clinic wide policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that equipment is maintained and stock managed to ensure economical use of all resources.
  • Participate in clinical audit and research programmes within the department to ensure continuous development of evidence based practices.
  • Participate in the on call rota to ensure continuity of patient care.
