Job Description

We are working with a great private hospital in London who are recruiting for an experienced Senior Anaesthetic Practitioner to join them in their theatre department.This is a full-time, permanent position, working 37.5 hours per week.Shifts: Shifts are Earlies & lates (7:30am - 3:30pm & 1:30pm - 9:30pm), and includes Saturday shifts.Senior Anaesthetic Nurse Responsibilities:

  • Work as a skilled member of the anaesthetic team, providing the highest standard of patient care across a varied caseload, whilst aiding and supporting the anaesthetic physician / consultant anaesthetists.
  • Devise, implement and assess individualised care plans for a wide and diverse patient group, and promoting best evidence-based practice.
  • Supervise and support members of the anaesthetic team ensuring that all staff are able to provide the highest standard of care.
  • In the absence of the Charge Nurse/ODP you will have continuing responsibility for the management of the Anaesthetic department, including the deployment of staff and the use of equipment and resources.
  • Ensure a welcoming, caring and safe environment, as well as promoting, maintaining and monitoring standards in accordance with the guidelines of the NMC/HCPC and CQC.
Qualifications/Experience Required:
  • Registered Practitioner with NMC or HPC registration.
  • Recognised Anaesthetic Course Qualification
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in Anaesthetics with an excellent understanding of the perioperative needs of patients and customers, and a wide knowledge of anaesthetic practices and procedures.
  • Experience of supervising a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Motivated and enthusiastic with a passion for high quality patient care, as well as the ability to work well under pressure and flexibly as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
