Job Description

This position, working under the direction of the facility Financial Controllers, will lead the transition in the accounts receivable department and continue to actively develop and stream the receivables processes while building sound relationships withclients.Client DetailsMy client is a world leader in providing sustainable waste and energy solutions. Annually, their modern Energy-from-Waste facilities safely convert approximately 20 million tons of waste from municipalities and businesses into clean, renewable electricityto power one million homes and recycle approximately 500,000 tons of metal.DescriptionThe Senior Accounts Receivable will be responsible for:

  • Leading the ERP transition in the accounts receivable department, developing and streamlining processes where possible, ensuring appropriate financial controls are in place
  • Preparation & distribution of monthly sales invoices together with all relevant supporting information
  • Assisting the finance team in the preparation of reports
  • Preparing waste reports on a daily and weekly basis and dispatching to customers and internal personnel
  • Liaising with operations to provide updates on waste deliveries
  • Preparation of Daily and Weekly tonnage reconciliation.
  • Preparation of Weekly and Monthly Energy reconciliation
  • Holding hauliers to account for manual error and ensuring contractual terms are adhered to
  • Review A/R Ageing daily to ensure maintenance of debtor collections
  • Research unapplied and short payments
  • Maintain list of open credits
  • New Waste supplier set-up
  • Support both internal and external audits
  • Support Facility Management by providing necessary reports and financial information
  • Ad hoc projects/tasks as required
  • Research, investigate and report variances on a monthly basis to maintain the integrity of the Companys general ledger and financial statements
ProfileThe successful candidate will have:
  • A minimum of three years experience in a comparable role
  • An accounting technician qualification or similar would be an advantage
  • Strong experience using accounting systems (PeopleSoft, DMS, WinWeigh would be an advantage)
  • Experience in the waste & energy industry in a relevant role is highly desirable
  • Ability to deliver customer service that meets or exceeds customers expectations
  • Good with time management and have a good attention to detail
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Excel
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision under rigid time constraints
  • Possess a high degree of initiative, self-motivation, commitment and resourcefulness
  • Experience in the operation of VAT would be an advantage
Job OfferIf successful, the Senior Accounts Receivable will be offered:
  • A salary of £35,000 - £40,000
  • The opportunity to work on a hybrid basis
