Job Description

Lucy A. Raymond and Sons Ltd is a Reinsurance Broker specialized in the property business that works mainly with Latin American clients. Our current portfolio include more than 160 active clients and different lines of business in the property damage segment including but not limited to All Risk Property Damage, Construction and Erection All-Risk, Construction Property Equipment, and Terrorism. Our operating hours during the week are from 9 am to 6 pm, with possible additional hours at night to allow for a bigger time laps to communicate with our clients located in different time-zones.The following is a list of the job position that fall inside of our current hierarchy that the company will eventually assign a certificate of sponsorship. However, this may be subject to change as our company grows and other job position could be opened:Job descriptionThe role is for a senior broking practitioner with the capacity to seek for new markets and capacities in the international market and coordinates efforts to deliver results. Liaise with different departments to make sure processing of the business meet client’s expectations. Keeps abreast of any changes to the Reinsurance market and regulation. Additionally, provides guidance to subordinates on the most complex programmes and forms active part of the management to discuss future strategies to meet with Company objectives. The main duties and responsibilities of the role are:

  • Bring new business by expanding our portfolio of clients and increasing the income on the existing ones
  • Be the main point of contact with assigned portfolio of clients. Our current portfolio include more than 160 active clients and different lines of business in the property damage segment including but not limited to All Risk Property Damage, Construction and Erection All-Risk, Construction Property Equipment, and Terrorism.
  • Analyse, translate and prepare the documentation and supporting information sent by the clients to show to the underwriters both in Spanish and English
  • Professional negotiations with underwriters to find the most suitable insurance for the clients need.
  • Handle the day to day clients requirement (amendments, technical queries, quotes)
  • Ensure the existing deals are renewed.
  • Build and maintain ongoing relationships with the clients and underwriters.
  • Excellent understanding of London and the Latin American insurance market dynamics and core processes.
  • Excellent understanding and application of compliance and FCA regulation.
  • Keep detailed records and complete administrative tasks such as paperwork and correspondence.
    • The skills, experience and qualifications required for this job are:
  • Managing high profile Property Accounts mainly in Latin America.
  • High Customer Service Skills with capacity to bring together the Anglo-Saxon and the Latin business culture.
  • High Commercial ability.
  • Proven experience on insurance and reinsurance brokers and insurance or reinsurance companies for Senior Brokers.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent (preferably Industrial Engineering).
  • Good working under pressure and with ability to prioritise.
  • Our growing business requires having bilingual employees, with proven technical knowledge on the lines of business that we broke.
  • Foreign language skills desirable (e.g. Spanish) as the day to day requires to translate insurance contract conditions to the underwriters in the London market and vice versa.
  • Attention to detail and report-writing skills.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience of managing effective client relationship
  • Excellent understanding and application of compliance and FCA regulation.
  • Demonstrate integrity and professionalism.
  • Ability to work well as part of a team.
