Job Description

Pay: MPS + SEN allowanceStart Date: September 2021We are looking for a part timeSENDCo who will ensure that our SEND provision is of the highest standard.At Penshurst CE Primary we prideourselves on providing an inclusive school community where each pupil is givenopportunities to experience success. The successful applicant must:Be an experienced, qualifiedteacher with QTS.Hold the National Award for SENCo-ordinationHave experience of working withchildren with Special NeedsThe successful applicant willalso: Model a culture of excellence whilepromoting a collaborative and caring atmosphere.Clearly demonstrate andarticulate the schools vision of walking in the shoes of othersExemplify Penshurst CE Primarysschool values - Determination, Compassion, Friendship and Courage.Lead professional developmentthrough example and support, and co-ordinate the provision of high qualityprofessional development by methods such as coaching, drawing on other sourcesof expertise as necessaryBe enthusiastic and committed toimproving educational outcomes for pupils with special educationalneeds.Have strong collaboration skillsto motivate, nurture, support teachers, parents and pupils.Work closely with the SeniorManagement Team, keeping them regularly informed of pupil progress,interventions and support in place and highlighting, where necessary, changesand developments needed, liaise and work with parents and externalagencies.Have experience creating IndividualEducational Plans, holding termly meetings with parents, review meetings,transition meetings etc.Have sound knowledge of the SENDCode of Practice.Lead staff in developing theirknowledge and expertise in working with SEND children.Support the work of, teachingassistants and teachers working with SEND Children.Work with and support parents ofpupils who are on the SEND or vulnerable registerBe a keen understanding andpromoter of wellbeing for pupils and staff.Show cultural awareness andability to impact the school community by being engaging and visibleIn return we can offer you:The warm, welcoming, friendlyfeel of a small schoolPupils who are a great to workwith.Supportive parents who want towork with us to get the best possible outcomes for their children.High quality, ongoingprofessional development.A strong leadership team who aredriving the school forward with a clear vision and high expectations.Information about the schoolWe are a small village churchschool, at the heart of our community, set in an Area of Outstanding NaturalBeauty. The school plays a very activerole in the local and wider community and provides many opportunities forchildren to develop their talents and interests, whether this be in thesporting competitions we take part in or in our wide range of extra-curricularclubs.
