The post would suit someone who demonstrates passion,commitment and the desire to make a real difference. The SEnco will take onthe responsibility for the day-to-day operation for the provision made by theschool for pupils with SEND, they will support and enable a very close knit andhardworking teaching team to enable all SEN children to achieve their fullpotential. The SEnco will build upon the strong relationships the school haswith all parents especially those parents of children with SEN and will havethe expertise to guide them and advise them in the best educational provisionfor their children offered at the school. The successful candidate will haveQualified Teaching status with atleast 3 years experienceExperience of working withchildren with Special NeedsA Thorough knowledge of the newSEND Code of PracticeThe ability to lead staff andprovide professional guidance in developing their knowledge and expertise inworking with SEN children to secure high quality teaching andlearningBe skilful in working with pupilswith a range of different abilities and needs - SEND, LAC, Pupil , EAL,G & TAbility to work effectively withthe Headteacher, SLT, and Governors to achieve excellence, ensuring that allstatutory requirements are met to bring about high standards for allpupils.The ability to support andoverview the work of teaching assistants working with SEN childrenA proven track record ofoutstanding teaching and effective management skills along with highlydeveloped and sensitive interpersonal and communication skills.Good management andorganisational skills and experience of leading/managing other staffThe necessary communicationskills enabling liaison with a variety of external agenciesExperience of working inpartnership with parents, carers, external agencies and thecommunity.We can offer: A position on our SeniorLeadership TeamThere is a dedicated SENCOsecretary/PA to assist with admin duties pertaining to the roleAn excellent working schoolenvironment where staff are happy, positive and dedicatedWe have a strong and clear visionwith an engaging curriculum which develops and celebrates the potential of eachchildPositive relationships withfamilies of children with SENDThis is a permanent part timeposition of at least 3 days per week with a possibility of moving to 4 days.Appointment to this position willbe subject to an enhanced Criminal Record Bureau Disclosure Check.Closing Date: 05/03/2021 at 16:00Interviews: TBC Information about the schoolSt Michaels RC Primary School isa two form entry school in Medway, with over 440 pupils on roll.
