Job Description

Are you a SEN Teaching Assistant looking for a new role in Streatham, LambethTradewind Recruitment are working alongside an all-through SEN school who are currently recruiting for an enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join the team. The position involves supporting a student on a 1:1 basis with Autism and Moderate Learning Difficulties(MLD) in a mixed class in KS1.The successful candidate will have experience working with SEN children, particularly those with Autism and MLD. They will be responsible for providing support to the student, both academically and personally. This may include personal care, and the abilityto maintain a calm and patient attitude is essential.Responsibilities:

  • Providing 1:1 support to a student with Autism and MLD in a mixed KS1 class
  • Supporting the student academically and personally, including personal care
  • Implementing and following Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Behaviour Plans for the student
  • Monitoring the students progress and providing regular feedback to the class teacher and SENCo
  • Developing and maintaining a positive and supportive relationship with the student
  • Encouraging the student to engage in classroom activities and social interactions with peers
  • Adapting classroom materials and activities to suit the students individual needs and learning style
  • Attending and participating in relevant training, meetings and reviews as required by the school
The daily rate for this position is between £80 to £90, dependent on experience and qualifications.
