Job Description

SECURITY ENGINEER - MAYFAIR, LONDON - £75K + BENEFITSA rare and exciting opportunity has arisen within a global bank based in Mayfair, currently looking to recruit a Security Engineer who will be expected tocontinue and enhance the development of the ongoing Information Security program that safeguards the banks computer networks, systems and data. This will include maintaining robust cyber defences and awareness of appropriate risks.You will be required to:

  • Maintain Information Security Policies, Standards and Procedures
  • Identify, implement, update and maintain technical controls
  • Monitor and respond to security threats
  • Identify and resolve vulnerabilities
  • Perform security assurance against internal systems, networks and third-party vendors.
    • The Security Engineer will work closely with Group Information Security to ensure that policies and standards align with the Group strategy.Experience Required Essential
  • Minimum of three years’ experience in a technical security role
  • Hands on experience of vulnerability management processes and tools.
  • Knowledge of security standards, risk methodologies and relevant legal, financial and regulatory legislation
  • Detailed technical knowledge of database and operating system security
  • Experience with security systems including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, anti-virus software, SIEM, vulnerability management software.
  • Ability to develop and implement appropriate risk metrics and KRIs

  • Experience performing vulnerability assessments using automated tools.
  • Understanding of technical security concepts and controls, including ISO27001/ PCI DSS.
  • Knowledge of current industry security products and control methods.
  • Experience with Tenable for vulnerability management
  • Forensic analysis experience
    • Skills Required
  • Analytical skills to resolve complex security scenarios and develop appropriate controls
  • Thorough understanding of ISO27001 PCI/DSS compliant standards
  • Working knowledge of TCP/IP networks, Virtualisation, database architecture, active directory
    • Personal Qualities
  • Self-motivated
  • Ability to work under pressure, multi-task, within specific timelines
  • Ability to interact with all levels of management and staff
  • Good communication skills to enable the candidate to gain trust and confidence of colleagues
  • Ability to learn and pick up knowledge and skills in areas where training is required
  • Ability to work to deadlines outside their control, sometimes under pressure
  • Attention to detail and methodical work practices
  • Ability to analyse data and extract trends and anomalies.
  • This role could be performed remotely in the event that the ideal candidate is unable to travel into the office for disability reasons.
