Job Description

Science Teacher - Arc School AnsleyCirca £30,000 - £37,000 per annum plus additional responsibility allowance dependent on experience and qualificiations.We are looking for a Lead Science Teacher to join our team at Arc School, Ansley. This is a full time, permanent position working 41 hours per week.Arc School Ansley is part of the Kedleston Group and opened in 2014. We are an independent special day school in Ansley a lovely small village, for children and young people aged between 11 and 16. Our experienced team supports children and young people with various complex educational, social and emotional needs, mostly associated with autism. The school supports young people with various co-existing needs, some of which are associated with the challenges of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, attachment disorder, SEMH, dyslexia and dyspraxia.Reporting into the Head Teacher / Deputy Head Teacher, you will be responsible for contributing to the development and realisation of the whole school science planning, and the aims, vision and ethos of the school.As Lead Teacher for Science, you will supervise the teaching and non-teaching staff allocated to work in the science department or pastoral group and work collaboratively with other lead teachers in order to promote mutual understanding of the school curriculum with the aim of improving the quality of teaching and learning in the school.You will implement and deliver an appropriately broad, balanced, relevant and differentiated curriculum for the department of science, with the input of staff and building on pupils prior knowledge.Essential requirements: Minimum 2:2 degree in a science-related subject Qualified Teacher Status Demonstrable experience of teaching KS3/KS4 science Experience of working with children with SEMH needsIn return we offer a competitive salary and benefits, ongoing opportunities for continued professional development and training, a friendly, passionate and committed team of colleagues and access to employee perks.We would love to hear from you if you feel that you meet the requirements for the role and share our passion and commitment to developing confident and capable young people by meeting their educational, health and social care needs in structured, nurturing school and home provisions.Kedleston Group Limited is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and requires all staff to act in the best interests of our pupils at all times.
