Science TeacherWandsworthSeptember StartA large PRU in Wandsworth is recruiting a science teacher to start in September for the full academic year. This is an ongoing position via the agency.The school caters for 100 pupils aged 11-19 years old, with EHCPs for SEMH, however many students have additional needs such as ASD, ADHD and SpLD. As well as a varied curriculum, they also offer vocational courses and extra-curricular activities.Shortlisted candidates must have proven experience in the UK. You will work across their 2 sites, and you may be required to teach some Maths lessons. Ideally you will have experience within an alternative provision, however the school will consider candidatesfrom a mainstream background. Classes generally have 4-6 students, with 1-3 teaching assistants depending on the class needs. Classes are mixed ability; therefore, it is imperative you are confident planning creative and inclusive Science lessons, accessibleto all abilities. You will also be responsible for carrying out assessments and reporting progress to SLT.Students will be sometimes be disengaged, therefore it is imperative you are calm and confident to work in a challenging but rewarding environment.For candidates who commit, the school can offer excellent rates of pay, as well as a friendly and stable working environment.The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
