Job Description

DT Technician in Secondary School in LambethWe are seeking a highly motivated and skilled DT Technician to support our Design and Technology department in our Secondary School. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing equipment, preparing materials for practical classes,and providing technical support to teachers and students.Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and repair equipment in the DT department, including woodworking, metalworking, and CAD/CAM equipment.
  • Prepare materials for practical classes, including cutting, shaping and assembling materials as needed.
  • Provide technical support to teachers and students, including training on the use of equipment and software.
  • Manage the inventory of materials and equipment in the DT department.
  • Keep accurate records of repairs and maintenance, and order new equipment and materials as needed.
Qualifications:
  • Experience in a similar role in a secondary school or educational setting.
  • Strong technical skills in woodworking, metalworking, and CAD/CAM equipment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A relevant qualification in a related field is desirable but not essential.
