Safeguarding & Quality Practice Advisor - Post Adoption Support Part time, 3 days per week (23 hours) - Consideration will be given to flexible working We are really pleased to advertise this newly created post of Safeguarding & Quality Practice Advisor- Post Adoption Support, which brings an exciting opportunity for an experienced and motivated Social Work professional to join the Safeguarding and Quality Practice Team within The Childrens Society.The Childrens Society has been helping children and youngpeople in this country for over 130 years. Historically we provided residential, fostering and adoption services, it became a registered adoption agency in 1935 and our involvement within adoptions ended in 2004. We run local services that support childrenwhen they are at their most vulnerable and in desperate need of help. Were there for children, every step of the way. We also have a strong community network, brilliant supporter base and over 100 shops.The Safeguarding and Quality Practice Advisor - PostAdoption Support is a key role within the SQP team and as well as providing safeguarding support and guidance across the organisation, you will fulfil functions required by our Ofsted registered Adoption Support Service. You will advise adult adoptees onissues arising from their adoption, complete Schedule 2 birth record counselling, support in accessing adoption records, and signposting to helpful groups or services. The role will require the redaction of adoption and care adults records, and where requestedthe sharing of such records.This is a dynamic and fulfilling role which will require you to use a broad spectrum of safeguarding knowledge and expertise, as well as your commitment to sensitively supporting others and undertaking high quality practice basedwork with adopted adults.We are looking for a qualified and experienced Social Work England registered Social Worker to join our dynamic, ambitious team.In order to be successful in this role, we would like you to have: Relevant Social Worker qualificationsuch as DipSW, CSS, CQSW. A minimum of 3-years experience working in Childrens Social Care. Demonstrable sound knowledge and experience of adoption legislation and guidance. Knowledge of post placement and post adoption support for families and children.Demonstrable and applied knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures, policy and legislation.Please be aware that this post covers a national geography and has team members that are located remotely and therefore there may be a need to travelto multiple work locations across England.
