Safeguarding Officer1 year Fixed Term ContractHome based initially - East London when office based21 hours a week£42,000 pro rata.This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with extensive safeguarding experience to work for one of the world leading non-profit organisation thats specialises in the prevention as well and the control and treatment of certain diseases.This Safeguarding Officer will be responsible for the safeguarding management and organisation delivery of the safeguarding strategy. You will oversee the safeguarding training and ensure that all employees are trained appropriately. Please note that a small part of this role is travelling internationally, when able to do so.This role is a 1 year Fixed Term Contract and will be for roughly 21 hours per week. The role is initially home based however offices are based in East London when re opened. The role will be paying £42,000 pro rata.Duties* Assess all safeguarding risks within the company including projects, jobs and programmes* Participate in the investigations relating to safeguarding where appropriate* Lead safeguarding projects and initiatives* Ensure the organisations safeguarding meets donor and legal requirements* Working heavily with key internal team within the organisations* Advise and train managers and staff on the safeguarding policies* Support in designing an d delivering any new training relating to safeguarding to the organisations* Create context and materials relating to new training* Receive all safeguarding incident reports and making first assessmentsRequirements* Sound understanding and experience of safeguarding and protection work for a public body or non-profit organisations* Excellent track record of providing safeguarding advice and guidance* Updated knowledge of the latest legislations in relation to safeguarding* Understanding safeguarding as it related to an organisation that is operating globally.* Experience in a similar role is essential* It would be hugely desirable if you have experience with INGO involved in health programme development and implementation * Excellent interpersonal and consultative skills* Ability to train, communication and negotiate and influence a variety of audiences face to face and at a distance* Prioritising a high work load* Excellent communication both written and verbal* Excellent attention to detail* Willing to travel internationally 1 to 2 weeks per trip.* Knowledge of French and or Portuguese would be highly desirableMorgan Hunt is a multi award winning Employment Business for interim, contract and temporary recruitment and acts as an Employment Agency in relation to permanent vacancies.
