Do you want to work for an innovate AI Automotive startupThe company work solely in machine learning automation for automotive and logistics companies. They have recently won sever large contracts with well renowned automotive companies to deploy computer vision and self-driving technology.To meet this demand they are hiring a number of ROS Engineers to support ongoing projects. In this position you will be responsible to maintain the companys ROS based middleware platforms.You will be using C++ & Python to contribute to the design, architecture and robustness of their ROS based software stack.This position is aimed at MSc and PhD grads with ideally 1-2+ years experience in a similar position but they company is flexible if you have the right knowledge. Theyll offer training and support from day one and full training on their current bespoke software environment. Responsibilities- Work on ROS based system for autonomous mobility applications and maintain the code base- Integrate libraries and other software developed to autonomous vehicle navigation- Implement algorithms for autonomous operations- Have overview across the engineering and research teams to understand the scope of the system and the roles of the individual components- Working closely with the team, understand, schedule and integrate features and bug fixes- To undertake site visits to customers as part of the commissioning and testing of codeWhat you will need- Masters / PhD level qualification in robotics / software engineering / computer science - Excellent knowledge of ROS ideally development experience within a professional environment- Excellent knowledge of Linux OS- Passionate about robotics and enjoy finding out how things work- Good programming skills in C++ / PythonDesirable- Experience of using ROS for vehicle automation- Experience of ROS2- Experience in few of the following areas:- Autonomous Navigation- Motion Planning- Sensor Calibration- Sensor Data fusionRole: ROS EngineerSalary: £35k - £50k DOELocation: West LondonWork from home: 100% during COVID, returning to office when safeModis International Ltd acts as an employment agency for permanent recruitment and an employment business for the supply of temporary workers in the UK.
