Job Description

Events ManagerFinancial Services15 month FTC£55,000 - £58,000CityA fantastic opportunity for an engaging, passionate and adaptable Events Manager to join an Investment Bank based in London on a 15 month fixed term basis covering maternity leave. The successful candidate MUST have proven experience managing events from end to end in a fast-paced role within the Financial Services industry. You will be responsible for the planning, management and oversight of all client and business events, ensuring high quality standards are maintained.Responsibilities:

  • Organising and overseeing a wide range of events and conferences (both one day events & our larger multi-day international conferences);
  • Scheduling 1-1 meetings for our sector conferences;
  • Taking on a major role at our flagship conferences (either transport/accommodation or looking after 40+ company logistics for one conference);
  • Coordination of entire event set-up, from selecting & viewing venues, reviewing/deciding menus, suggesting entertainment ideas, reviewing contracts before Legal and Management, sending of invitations etc.;
  • Represent the company at various conferences and events;
  • Handling of strict yet substantial budgets, accurate cost tracking and prompt invoice payments;
  • Taking on various related tasks throughout the year to help the wider team and department.
Skills and experience:
  • Previous experience managing events from end to end in a fast paced environment required
  • Experience within Financial Services
  • Versatile approach to problem solving
  • Experienced relationship manager, demonstrable experience building relationships with senior business stakeholders and external clients
  • Efficient, proactive working style with exemplary attention to detail;
  • Passionate about maintaining an exceptionally high standard, in all areas of their work;
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills, alongside the ability to maintain a calm, professional demeanour when working under high levels of pressure;
  • An enthusiastic, self-motivated team member who adapts quickly in a fast moving environment;
  • Engaging and professional communication skills
  • Able to work autonomously or as part of a bigger team depending on the nature of the situation
  • Have proven themselves to be trustworthy and familiar with dealing with highly-confidential information;
  • Flexibility to work out of usual office hours on occasion
