Job Description

This role is responsible for :

  • Central coordination of existing or new UK legal entity regulatory and risk initiatives within the UK CRO team where outcomes are related to Consent Order read across and implementation.
  • Look "through" the milestones to understand the impacts of delivery and what this means to the risk profile of the UK LEs. He / she will connect to the extant control environment and the change in profile relying on past framework and practitioner experience.
  • The role will support all UK legal entities
CGML is Citis international broker dealer entity based in the UK which has US GAAP assets in excess of $218Bn; and CBNA London Branch has assets of approximately $240bn under US GAAP / $450bn under UK GAAP.. The UK legal entities are under direct supervisionby the Prudential Regulation Authority (PRA) and the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). Key Responsibilities:
  • Working with the global WCR and Enterprise Risk Transformation teams, being the central responsible role holder for coordinating efforts related to the Risk assessment of those programme initiatives.
  • This role holder will have Subject Matter Expertise to understand the outcomes of the milestones; and working in conjunction with the UK CRO team, the FICC teams, Market Risk, ORM, ECDO, Retail and Private Bank Risk and other WCR and ICM teams, overseethe implementation and track targeted outcomes. The role holder will also act as the central Risk and Controls person for the UK across all the programmes and be the central point of contact for the UK Transformation / CO steering group.
  • A 2LOD role with responsibility for review and challenge for outcomes to be of benefit to UK LEs
  • Responsible for management and oversight of key regulatory project deliverables, with key focus on Data management including UK LE Risk lead for BCBS 239 implementation, the UK Risk Data plan and various other Risk initiatives in this space which will overlapwith the Consent Order Data and Tech deliverables.
  • Central point of contact in Risk for Financial risk of climate and other environmental and social change for UK Legal entities working alongside the Global / EMEA Climate Risk team
Work Experience:
  • Extensive years of experience from a top tier bank or a consultancy firm, with excellent working knowledge of financial markets products, and a strong focus on governance and controls.
  • Prior extensive experience in a Credit Risk and/or Non-financial risk management is required in either first or second line of defence
  • Experience leading and participating in cross functional projects and regulatory remediation, and audit corrective action plans
  • Familiarity with the regulatory landscape in the UK including the PRAs approach to branch and subsidiary supervision
  • Understanding of front to back dependencies and controls in a complex matrixed organisation
Qualifications:
  • Post-graduate education in Economics, Finance, Financial Risk Management, or other quantitative discipline preferred.

  • Ability to digest complex or detailed issues and articulate them in clear and concise messaging so that others understand principals of risk issues despite complexity or volume of information.
  • Strong attention to detail, excellent quantitative and analytical skills, willingness to "roll up sleeves", tireless work ethic, strive for excellence in both the "what" and "how" we deliver results.
  • Excellent communicator and proven ability of stake holder collaboration and management in a large and highly matrixed organisation
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to multi-task effectively in a high-volume and complex environment with changing priorities, with a practical solutions-driven approach.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office - particularly Excel (metrics and data analysis), PowerPoint (presentation decks), and Word (writing and editing procedural and technical documentation).
