Job Description

As a Barclays Risk Manager you will be responsible for analytical support in designing credit policies across the customer lifecycle. This includes the setting of credit parameters for all programs impacting customers to ensure loss rates remain withinrisk appetite whilst the expected reward is achieved. In your new role you will work with data analytics and modelling, to build, monitor, maintain and optimize the risk/reward decision within BUK Unsecured Lending. We also have a flexible working process where, subject to business needs, all colleagues globally are able to request work patterns to reflect their personal circumstances What will you be doing You will be responsible for producing high quality recommendations for underwriting strategy design Providing insight and recommendations to Senior Credit Risk Manager to support in the creation of risk strategies and achieve P&L/impairment targets You will be responsible for in-depth monitoring of performance of certain credit policies, highlighting trends / insights and driving corrective actions Taking responsibility for the production and maintenance of a variety of BAU reports, and ensure they are delivered within agreed timescales Responding to requests for information from senior management, producing timely, clear and accurate data/insight to meet those requests Delivering clear, concise, and effective communication of proposed strategy changes to team leader and other key stakeholders Influencing on-going communications with key business stakeholders at senior level: Finance, CRO, Decision Analytics and Commercial heads What were looking for: Advanced understanding of a standard statistical package (SAS preferred) or similar such as SQL coding to perform data analysis Advanced Excel skills (e.g. pivot tables, conditional formatting, data validation, logical functions) Ability to process vast amounts of data into meaningful information Practical experience of using analytics to solve complex business problems Skills that will help you in the role: Experience in designing credit strategies on a consumer credit portfolio Strong academic background in a mathematical discipline e.g. mathematics, statistics, physics Excellent quantitative skills with exceptional analytical skills and logical thinking Understanding of how a consumer lending product functions and how the key parts of its P&L might interact Where will you be workingIn the heart of Canary Wharf, our headquarters at Churchill Place boasts onsite amenities such as; a gym, staff restaurant and deli bar, and is easily accessible by tube and bus links.
