Job Description

The Credit Risk Exec Group Manager serves as the Global Head of Citis Banks, Broker/Dealer and Non-Bank Financial Institutions portfolio. Directly managing teams in New York and London, the Role also works with regional heads in Asia, Latin America andCentral Europe/Middle East and Africa to serve as their subject matter expert and senior approver. The role requires an in-depth understanding of the global banking and financial services industry, including industry prospects and the competitive landscape.The role requires close coordination with business functions such as corporate banking and sales and trading, and an ability to understand, and help direct, Citis strategic direction in the financial services space. The successful candidate should have astrong understanding of a broad product line, including traded products and clearing and settlement. Previous management experience is a strong plus. Excellent communication skills required, in order to negotiate internally, usually at a senior level. Therole also involves meetings and discussions with banking regulators and external communication/negotiation with clients. Responsible for executing functional strategy in area managed. May be involved in, or responsible for, diverse (cross-discipline) activities.Key member of the Financial Institutions Credit Risk team at Citi. Experience approving transactions at a very senior level is necessary. Responsibilities:

  • Manages teams which cover Banks, Broker/Dealers and NBFI in North America and EMEA.
  • Work closely with regional credit heads in Latin America, Asia and CEMEA to provide them guidance, serve as a SME, and serve as a senior approver for those regions.
  • Set Citis stance for these Banks, Broker/Dealer and NBFI portfolios, including setting Citis credit approach for these counterparties.
  • Works closely with senior staff in business areas, such as Corporate Banking, Investment Banking/Capital Markets, Sales, Trading, and Treasury Services.
  • Portfolio manager for these global portfolios, including playing the key role in limit setting for them.
  • Ensure global consistency in how Citi risk manages these portfolios, while being sensitive to local nuances.
  • Serves as a senior-level credit approver for these portfolio.
  • Industry specialist and subject matter expert.
  • Identifies trends and emerging risks in the portfolio and takes action on these.
  • Works on project teams, in a senior, often team lead, capacity. These teams often bring together different disciplines.
Qualifications:
  • Extensive years relevant experience
  • Managerial experience as a department head or team leader preferably in the Banks and NBFI space.
  • Effective people management skills
  • Broad product knowledge
  • Ability to work closely with a broad variety or partners, including First Line of Defense business partners
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills as well as presentation skills are required.
Education:
  • Bachelors/University degree, Masters degree preferred
This is a C16 banding however candidates should hold the MD title in their current role to be awarded the same title in this role. In the instance you are a Director and successful for this opportunity, you will be hired as a Director / C16.
