Job Description

Are you a Compliance Manager ready to take the next step into a Solicitor position Do you possess more than four years of experience in leading a risk and compliance teamJoin forces with a prestigious London law firm as they seek a Risk & Compliance Solicitor with a strong legal background to enhance their esteemed Risk and Compliance team. In this pivotal role, youll work alongside the General Counsel/COLP and the team,striving to reduce risks and ensure unwavering adherence to legal and regulatory mandates.Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough file assessments, provide constructive feedback to legal practitioners and department heads, and relay your insights to the General Counsel/COLP and COFA whenever necessary.
  • Scrutinise complaint-related correspondence and skilfully compose responses. This will involve a close examination of case files and close collaboration with fee earners, supervisors, and the General Counsel/COLP or COFA, as required.
  • Keep insurers apprised of relevant circumstances, oversee the resolution of issues, and coordinate with external legal experts as the situation demands.
  • Offer valuable guidance on matters of conduct, with a particular focus on conflicts of interest, ethics, and accounting regulations, when requested by any member of our team.
  • Evaluate contracts from third-party suppliers and furnish written advice on matters of risk and compliance, as and when the firm requires it.
Key Requirements:
  • A profound understanding of the Code of Conduct 2019 and the SRAs regulatory framework.
  • Competence in navigating the Money Laundering Regulations, Bribery Act 2010, and Solicitors Accounts Rules 2011.
  • A track record of effectively handling routine compliance matters.
  • Previous experience in proficiently managing complaints.
