Job Description

Exciting opportunity for an experienced "Risk Analyst" to join a reputable energy investment firm, regulated by the FCA. The "Risk Analyst" will be reporting into the CRO.The "Risk Analyst" will be responsible for the following;

  • Working in conjunction with the CRO on quantitative measurement and monitoring
  • Working with traders on respective positions and trade related queries
  • Reviewing P&L and Greeks positions across Power, Gas, Oil, Carbon & Coal
  • Review P&L positions
  • Perform daily trade allocations process
  • Process daily, monthly, and ad-hoc settlements for European Power, Gas, Oil, Carbon, Coal Derivatives and Brokerage
  • Investigating and addressing risk of non-processed trades
  • Establish and run daily F/X hedging process
  • Handle queries from the CIO in terms of reviewing miss-pricing, and ensuring closing prices and market pricing are observed and aligned
  • Reconciling NAV with Fund Administrators
Requirements:
  • The individual will have worked as a Trader or Risk Analyst working closely with trades at hedge funds, trading house or buy-side companies focused on energy commodities
  • Understanding of trade bookings and amendments across energy commodities
  • Comprehensive and advanced understanding of financial derivatives (Futures, Options). This is via experience and theory working with front office
  • Detailed understanding (via experience) of Option pricing and Greeks.
  • Advanced knowledge on econometric time series modelling
  • Highly proficient in Excel and Excel VBA
  • Highly proficient in Python & R
  • Require someone to have a degree in a quantitative subject
  • PHD in Econometric/Statistics preferred
  • CFA/CQF candidate desirable
