Job Description

We are working with a Charity supporting people with Learning Disabilities to recruit for a Respite ManagerThe successful post holder will lead the service to deliver an outstanding support service for adults with learning disabilitiesJob Responsibilities:

  • The Respite Team Manager is responsible for offering a creative and flexible response to ever changing complex demands which include meeting guest’s needs within the environment and staff skills
  • Maintain detailed knowledge of the Charitie’s services, relevant legislation, quality standards, and sector developments
  • Liaise effectively with stakeholders, e.g. Facilities or property owner, about safety issues.
  • Ensure all safeguarding and health and safety incidents are reviewed an appropriate learning is undertaken as a result
  • Undertake and participate in quality audits in your own and other services.
  • Ensure your team has the appropriate knowledge and skills through effective induction, supervision, and training
  • Facilitating good transition for unplanned guests to settled accommodation
Person Specification:
  • Have experience working with people with learning disabilities
  • Ensure safeguarding and safety are always at the forefront whilst respecting informed decisions and the Mental Capacity Act
  • Understand and demonstrate effective leadership and management, working alongside their team and leading by example
  • Have, or are working towards, RMA/LMC, Health and Social Care NVQ4./ QCF 5 or equivalent
  • Respite experience is desirable but not essential
