Witherslack Group are about to open two new childrens homes each accommodating up to 4 young people as part of a brand new integrated therapeutic site. Were looking to recruit a team of individuals who can get along naturally with everyone and quickly build relationships. If this sounds like you, youll find working for Witherslack Group as a Residential Support Worker a highly fulfilling job.The young people who live here sometimes wake up in the middle of the night, feeling ill, upset, or just unable to sleep. So to have someone like you there, who understands them and can make sure theyre alright, makes a massive difference. Working with teenage boys and girls (who, like any other teenagers, can exhibit challenging behaviour), youll need a special type of empathy, compassion, strength and resilience. Our homes are mixed gender and all our young people need role models - someone they can build a rapport with before going to bed. They might be anything from gamers, to film buffs or football fanatics. Whatever theyre into, youll know how to talk to them on a level that builds a relationship, so if they need help in the night, theyll be comforted by your presence and youll know just how to meet their individual needs.About youWere looking for the kind of person who gets along naturally with all kinds of people, but isnt afraid to get stuck into a bit of cleaning and admin work during the quiet hours either. Not to mention doing the odd round to carry out building checks and keep the house safe.
